Have you accumulated savings in the past two years since the start of the pandemic? Research published by the Central Bank suggests that Irish households have collectively saved more than €11 billion since the start of the pandemic.

If you are part of this cohort of people, have you thought about how to make this money work? With the cost of living rising and interest rates remaining low, now is a great time to consider investing some of your savings to ensure your long-term financial well-being.

Interested but don’t know where to start? Don’t worry, Bank of Ireland has you covered with its new investment education webinar series – Invested – which kicked off last week (you can catch up here).

Invested in growing your savings?

Invested is a 3-part webinar series that takes you on a journey from understanding your money to examining your goals and developing a plan to help you achieve the best outcome for you and your family. Bank of Ireland and its team of expert guests give you the information and advice you need to feel confident in understanding and venturing into the world of investing.

The second installment of the series will take place on May 25 at 10 a.m. Entitled Eyes on the Prize: Secrets to Successful Investing, the focus will be on the golden rules of investing and the behaviors that influence how we achieve our investment goals. Host Bernard Walsh, Head of Pensions and Investments at Bank of Ireland will be joined by Dr Greg Davies, Head of Behavioral Finance at Oxford Risk for this informative session.

Did you miss the first webinar? Don’t worry, the first episode of the series – The Why and How of Investing: A Beginner’s Journey – looked at the fundamental challenges of making your money work when the cost of living is rising but interest rates remain low. You can watch the full webinar here.

The final episode – How many eggs? And what baskets? Investing in uncertain times – will take place on June 29 where the discussion between Bernard Walsh and Eoin Fahy, Head of Responsible Investment at KBI Global Investments will focus on how you can tackle market volatility and what smart decisions you can make in the face of global uncertainty affecting your investments.

In addition to informative webinars, Bank of Ireland offers free materials to read before each webinar, as well as the Essential Guide to Investing e-book for anyone who wants to learn more and brush up on their investing knowledge.
