Met Eireann also said clouds would develop and there would be a slight chance of a shower or two later in the day.

Friday will start with hazy sunny spells becoming cloudier.
A forecaster said: ‘This morning will be mostly dry with spells of hazy sunshine developing.
“Becoming cloudier over parts of Munster and southern Leinster during the afternoon with a few well scattered outbreaks of rain developing.
“Breezy too with moderate to cool east to northeast winds mitigating the highest temperatures by 12 to 16 degrees.”


Tonight will be mostly dry with a slight chance of a shower or two along the eastern and southern fringes.
Temperatures will be between 3 and 7C.
SATURDAY
Saturday will have sunny spells with mixed clouds. The weather will be mostly dry but some showers will develop in the South.
Met Eireann said: “Saturday will be mostly dry with a mix of cloud and sunny spells; however the risk of a few isolated showers will persist near the southern coasts.

“Highest temperatures 12-16C, coolest in the east, in moderate to cool northeasterly winds.”
Saturday night will remain mostly dry but there will be a slight chance of light showers near the southern coasts. The lowest temperatures will be between 4 and 8C.
SUNDAY
Sunday will bring sunny spells but the weather will be cloudy in places.
Met Eireann said: “Dry with sunny spells in most areas, but it will be a bit more cloudy in the south-west where there will be occasional light rain and drizzle.
“Highest temperatures 13-16C, in mostly moderate easterly winds.”
NATIONAL OUTLOOK
Meteorologist Joanna Donnelly said there was “plenty of sunshine coming Friday and throughout the weekend”.
Joanna said: “Overall the outlook is dry and certainly lots of sunny spells throughout the weekend.
“The east and northeast coasts through the weekend winds will take on something of a northeast aspect as the days go by.”
Friday’s winds will remain predominantly light easterly over land.
The forecaster said she had to “dig up her sun symbols” for today.
She continued: “Once again the winds are cooler along the coastal areas so if you are out at sea this weekend take care.


“There is a cool east or northeast wind this weekend.”
Joanna added: “Temperatures for Saturday up to 15C and similar on Sunday, just an isolated downpour popping up in the afternoon both days.”
