Belfast-based Elliott Duffy Garrett (EDG) has pledged his support for the new ‘Will You?’ from Northern Ireland Chest Heart & Stroke (NICHS). fundraising campaign for its long revolutionary Covid recovery service.
The campaign, which will launch this month, will see participating lawyers waive their standard fees for will-writing services and instead invite clients to donate to NICHS.
The charity estimates around 20,000 people in Northern Ireland could be living with Covid for a long time and has launched the first service of its kind to support them.
Neil Mulholland, Partner at EDG, said: “We are delighted to be able to use our legal skills to help in one way or another with the challenges faced by those who suffer from long Covid. By helping people write or update a will, we can raise vital funds for this NICHS service and play a part in helping someone on their recovery journey.
Jackie Trainor, Director of Revenue Generation at NICHS, added: “Our long running Covid recovery service is not receiving any funding. In fact, almost 90% of our care, prevention and research services are financed exclusively by public donations.
“We rely heavily on our supporters, like Elliott Duffy Garrett, to help us continue to care for and support our local community. We really appreciate Elliott Duffy Garrett’s commitment to our “Will You?” countryside.
“We encourage lawyers to register and support the campaign, so that we can continue to provide help and support services to the many people living with Long COVID across Northern Ireland.”
