Drumaness crash: Community ‘stunned’ after woman killed

A community has been ‘stunned’ after a woman was killed in an accident in Co Down.

It happened on Newcastle Road near Drumaness outside Ballynahinch on Tuesday May 24.

Local MP Cathy Mason said: “The community is stunned after a tragic road accident.

“The death of a woman and the serious injuries of two other passengers in an accident on Newcastle Road near Drumaness has stunned the whole community.

“I wish to express my deepest sympathy to the family of the woman killed and others seriously injured in an accident near Drumaness.

“This tragedy has stunned the whole community, but everyone will step up to support all those affected in the difficult days ahead.

“I want to pay tribute to the emergency services for all their efforts at the scene.”

Slieve Croob adviser Alan Lewis added: “I send my deepest condolences to the family of the woman who lost her life in an accident on the A24 Newcastle Road, Drumaness this afternoon. noon. [Tuesday]. PSNI Inspector Campbell said: “Officers, along with colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and Air Ambulance, received and responded to a collision report at 3.30pm.

“The road remained closed for some time but has now reopened.
